Dr. Stefanone received his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 2004 and joined the Department of Communication at the University at Buffalo in 2006. His research explores the social psychology of technology use. His main interest is in computer-mediated communication and social media. His research addresses novel uses of tools like blogs and social network sites, and explores the effects these technologies have on people's relationships
